## Lawn Mode

In addition to frost protection, the OpenSprinkler system in VineyardElf also supports automatic lawn irrigation.

### Two operating modes

The sprinkler system operates in one of two modes:

| Mode | Description | When to use |
|------|-------------|-------------|
| **Frost** | Temperature monitoring + automatic sprinklers on frost | March – June |
| **Lawn** | Daily lawn watering on a schedule | July – September |

### Lawn mode configuration

- **Zones:** Select which OpenSprinkler zones water the lawn (e.g., S05, S06, S08)
- **Duration:** Watering time per zone (default: 20 minutes)
- **Start time:** Schedule start time (default: 1:00 AM — minimal evaporation)
- **Sequence:** Zones run sequentially (one after another), not simultaneously

### Switching modes

You can switch modes from the **Sprinkler Panel** (available in the VineyardElf menu):

1. Open the Sprinkler Panel
2. Click the **Lawn** or **Frost** button
3. The system will automatically:
   - Stop the active frost protection loop (if running)
   - Set up the irrigation schedule (in lawn mode)
   - Send an SMS notification about the mode change

### Manual run

You can also trigger lawn irrigation manually — use the **Water Lawn Now** button in the panel. This will run sequential watering across all lawn zones.
